10 Years

For our 10-year anniversary yesterday, Janna and Abbey baked us cakes, and Emma helped them decorate.

Abbey and Emma decorated this one that says "Happy Anniversary Dad" and has 8 sour patch kids on it to represent our 8 children.

Janna decorated this one that says "Happy Anniversary Mom Love Your Kids"

How creative they are. We celebrated by going to our softball games.

Since I knew we'd be at softball on Thursday, I made heart shaped meatloaf on Wednesday night. How romantic. And I bought Jay an anniversary card, and left it in the shopping cart. I hate when that happens.

Dirt Face

James was chasing the girls yesterday to try to get his hands on a cake they made, and he ate it- the dirt I mean.

Irrational

This is Janna's adjective. Yesterday I was getting dinner ready and asked each kid to pick up 20 things to get the table and floor cleared off. I can't see either of them, but Abbey says to Janna "Talk nicer!" Janna responds with "You could push nicer!" Does that make any sense to anyone?

Laminars

2 of the 4 laminars (water shooting devices) are up and running. They will have fiber optics soon also.

Palms and Grass

Suzee and me on the bench swing that I had Jay turn to face west rather than east so I could see the beautiful work he's done.
Lilly playing dead under the swingset- waiting for someone to notice her.
James and the bullet bar.
Emma snuck up on James.
Abbey made a star with a tape measurer and wanted me to take a picture.
Suzee in her cute little swimsuit.
Suzee in the bucket swing.
Emma and Abbey showing their manicures.
Ah, the beauty.
Pool, palm trees, grass, garden, barn, house.

My Saturday was fabulous! My new swimsuit from Shade got here (after we were done swimming, but it's here), the crew installed 4 BEAUTIFUL palm trees by the pool, the garden is flourishing, we installed (by my calculations) approximately 3,100 square feet of sod (in the rain) between the pool and the garden, Cami took Abbey and Emma to the beauty school to get their nails done, and it's always good to get a little rain- even if it was just a sprinkle. I wish I had a picture of Bob and Jay who played until midnight- each on his own tractor.

Cover Up

I might rest a little easier tonight knowing this is going on sooner rather than later. See that box at the end of the pool? That's the cover box. As in the automatic cover that will keep the pool secure at all times, and will only be able to be opened by the key holder. Fantastic!

Pool/Slip n Slide

When the pool had to be drained and re-leveled, the kids had a great time using it as a slip and slide. It was awesome!

Little One

This little one is not so little anymore. Look at those rolls.

And after the baptism, we had a party. A POOL party. We swam from 11:30 until 8 pm. It was wonderful- except for my sunburned children. The weather was great even though it threatened to rain a few times. Thanks to everyone who came and helped with food. Especially Cami. She did a lot of hard work.

Janna's Baptism

Janna was baptized May 23, 2009 at the Safford Stake Center.

I'm afraid there will be MANY swimming pictures this summer. Yes, the pool is still dirty, and yes, we're still filling it up. Progress has been made. Backfilling is going on right now.

Suzee Ann 3 Months

H.O.W.

Sorry the pictures are blurry. I was in a hurry because people started showing up.

Jay and I (mostly Jay) hosted a Horse Owners Workshop where an animal feed and nutrition specialist from Purina came to do a presentation. We had about 18 people signed up, and about 16 showed up. I think it went well, and they had giveaways and sales on Purina feed for that night only. Jay grilled steak for the masses, and I baked potatoes and got everything set up. We'll probably do another one in the fall sometime.

Buzz

James got a new summer look. Jay told me never to do it again- it makes his head look big. Well, it is big.

This Morning

So peaceful.
