Right on Time

On Sunday we were running 5 minutes late as usual. We got out the door, and were just a couple minutes late to church. I was shocked when we walked in and they hadn't started yet. If they haven't started yet, you're technically on time, right? I was comfortably sitting waiting for the meeting to start, when Janna passed me the program showing me that Jay was supposed to give the opening prayer. No wonder we were on time. They waited to start until we got there.

Garden Update

On 01/16/10 we-Amy, Cindy, Sean, Jay and me, plus some of the kids- started planting again. We started with onion, peas, beets, spinach and a few kinds of lettuce. We'll do more onions and some potatoes as soon as they arrive. I would have taken more pictures, but Cindy forbade any pictures of her, and my camera battery died.

Sunday Casserole

I have no idea what to call this creation of Jay's, but it turned out pretty tasty.
Ingredients:
Veggie pasta, tomatoes, mushrooms, ground beef, onions, broccoli, spinach, cheese, spices and seasonings.

R-A-I-N!!

We got lots of rain, but not as much as some other places. Things were pretty dreary around here for a while.

Ranch Trip 01/18/10

For Martin Luther King Day my family came to visit. My mom took Lilly birthday shopping. After that, we drove out to the ranch and my dad helped Jay and Sean with a couple of projects. We had lunch in a little sprinkle of rain- luckily it never got very bad. We drove by Dad and Patty's to see what they've been working on at their house. Then we went to dinner with my family, my aunt Sherri and uncle Clel, and Sean and Cindy's family. Cami was our waitress, and we had a wonderful dinner.

Diagnosis

We're over the pink eye (I think), but Suzee came down with impetigo. It's not pretty, but it hasn't seemed to bother her. We got some cream and antibiotics yesterday.

Pictures

After a year and 2 weeks with nothing hung on the walls (I have issues with putting holes in freshly repaired and painted walls), we hung shelves and pictures last night. You wouldn't believe how happy it made me. I have one more picture frame to buy, then it's done for now.

Ranch Trip 01/09/10

Beautiful views from the top of a little mountain/hill that almost everybody hiked up. Our family, Jay's mom, and Kevin and Kristi's family drove out to the ranch Saturday afternoon. It was lovely.

Tanner found a cut piece of power line that Jay used to roast the marshmallows

Everyone ended up with marsmallow everywhere- especially the bearded one.

Mornings

My morning was fabulous. 6 (maybe more, not sure yet) kids woke up with pink eye, and I had to blow dry Bob's homework. Don't ask. Oh, and Janna used all 20 of her spelling words in sentences about me yesterday, including awful. As in "You are awful."

Strait

Did I mention Jay got George Strait tickets for Christmas? Feb. 5 in Phoenix!
