Pudding

I thought James would like the chocolate pudding. I don't think he ate any. He just played with it.

Birthday

Sunday dinner.
Cupcakes the girls made. Abbey's teacher said "It must stink to have to make like 60 of these." I told him the girls did them by themselves. I just supervised.

Emma on Sunday.
Abbey on Sunday.
Before church- hair not done yet.

In Mesa with Jay's family.

Abbey and Emma turned 9 on Sunday. Saturday we had a cake with all of Jay's family in Mesa. Sunday they made cupcakes to take to their classes on Monday, and we had a dinner with everyone sitting down together. It's hard to do since we don't all fit at the table.

Baptism

Friday evening Jay got to baptize a friend who he installs pools with. His name is David Madsen. He's from Alaska, Hawaii, then Tucson. A really nice guy.

Pool Time

This is the view from my office looking northeast.
It's really happening. The pool project has begun. I say project, because it will be a big one- with the BBQ, patio, shade structure, etc. it will be a while before everything is finished (I don't know if it will ever really be finished). Anyway, we're VERY excited. Abbey and Emma are waiting to do their party until the pool is in.

We've Been Working in the Garden

Branden Brown- our Elder's Quorum Pres. (Their family came to help).
Brook
Bob

For family night we PLANTED. This garden has been a long time coming. It's about 1/4 acre, and we're planting LOTS of different fruits and veggies to see what grows best here. We'll sell any surplus produce at a "Farmer's Market" type deal here at the nursery. I'll have to get a picture of the whole garden area during the day. It's maybe 1/8 of the way planted. We have lots of work to do.

That's Lilly!

Black Eye

Bob gave this to James by way of a 4-wheeler ride.

Again- Bob is taking the pictures.

Talent Show

Our ward primary had a talent show last Friday night, which was entertaining. Abbey, Emma and Janna all performed a piano piece, and all did well. It was their first public performance since starting lessons.

No, I don't know why Janna wouldn't take off her big pink coat. It was HOT in there.

P.S. Bob was the photographer, so I don't have great shots, but at least I got pictures. I was busy wrestling with a cranky Suzee.

This is what I get...

when I sit on the bench swing under Brook who decided to drop her pants and relieve herself above me and Abbey. Such a thoughtful daughter.

This was last Friday- the 10th.

Mini Tornado

Last Friday I took the kids up to Dustin and Amy's for Katelynn's birthday party. They live up on the hill overlooking Safford (off Airport Road). I looked out the window and saw this thing that I thought was smoke from a fire. It wasn't. It was a mini tornado. It was headed for our building, then turned north and took off our neighbors porch roof, and went right by our house. The kids and I spent yesterday afternoon picking up all the broken branches from our pecan trees out front. It was a mess. If you click on the video on my sidebar, you can see what it did to our pool we have in front of our building. It ended up with an 18" crack that had to be repaired since we're planning on getting the pool in the ground very soon.

Easter

Easter was... different for us this year. Jay's mom is in the hospital in Tucson, so we spent the day at the park at the hospital. No kids were allowed in to visit, so they looked through her window when the sun was mostly down so they could actually see her.
Cami and Me at the hospital park.
We did Easter small this year. I got the girls each a little necklace, and Bob a watch, along with a few treats. They get enough sugar as it is.

I couldn't stop laughing

when Lilly showed me this as we were leaving Walmart yesterday. And yes, I know it's not boot season anymore.

Success

My first ward activity was a success. I was stressed about food, but we ended up with plenty.

Drumroll Please...

And the winners are:Janna, who got a huge bite and was squishing it through her teeth like a banana, which is what I thought she was eating, until she couldn't produce a banana peel as proof.

And Lilly who kept sneaking into the fridge and taking little bites each time.
Here's Lilly 2 1/2 years ago in a shirt Cami gave her when she was taste-testing butter the first time.

Butter Bandit

I went to get butter for the vegetables last night, and this is what I found. Do you see the teeth marks? I have caught 2 of my children red-handed taking bites out of the butter. Any guesses who?

Jay's 34!

Jay turned 34 on Friday, April 3. We did NOTHING special, other than tried to eat the cheesecake I ordered from New York, which was still frozen. Next year I'll have it sent a day earlier. We got to eat some Saturday after it thawed.

Styrofoam

James LOVED the styrofoam I pulled out of a box on Saturday. I got busy helping a customer, and this is what I came back to. It was too hard to get mad about the mess he made because he'd had so much fun doing it.

Geese

We now have geese at the nursery. Chicks to come soon. They're noisy. And messy.
